Tula Shut Out Chiefs, 9-0
|
Pitcher Nicholas Carey was sensational for the Chicago Tula in his team's 9-0 triumph over the Caldwell Chiefs. Carey picked up the win, and it was well-earned. William Jordan earned the save for Chicago, his 1st of the year. For the Chiefs, the loss makes their record 7-12.
The outcome was still in doubt with two out in the top of the second inning, but Carey was able to pitch out of a jam. With the bases loaded and Caldwell trailing 2-0, Carey retired Marco Greenough, who struck out.
