Starting pitcher Ernie Jones took care of business, helping the Walla Walla Walleye stifle the Myrtle Beach Seahawks, 3-1. Harry Richter, 2-0, earned the win in relief. He allowed 1 run on 2 hits in 2 innings. Carlos Rivas nailed down his 1st save.
Runs were scarce in this one. So, Alfredo Bermúdes's at-bat in the top of the tenth was vitally important. With no one out, the Walla Walla catcher hit a sacrifice fly, to give his team a 2-1 lead.
"I tell our guys all the time, 'Every pitch is the right pitch if you put it in the right place, you believe in it and have conviction,'" Walla Walla manager Eddie O'Bryan said.
The Seahawks fall to 7-10 and continue their uneven start to the 2047 season.
