The Laredo Hawks got a superb performance from pitcher Kevin Horton, but the Smoky Mountain Hobeaus still won the game, 3-2. Horton threw 7.1 innings of 3-hit ball. Smoky Mountain reliever Carlos Guzmán picked up the win, upping his record to 4-2. Bastien Martinez took the loss. The Hobeaus go to 26-40 with the win.

The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the ninth inning, when Smoky Mountain first baseman Matt Greene, facing Bastien Martinez, had a run-scoring sacrifice fly. It gave the Hobeaus the 3-2 win.

"We found a way to get it done," Greene said.
