The Kennesaw Jets got a superb performance from pitcher Zach Thompson. Still, it wasn't enough to beat Myrtle Beach. The Seahawks won the game, 5-2. Thompson threw 5.0 innings of shutout ball. Bob Archer closed it out for his 2nd save. The Jets fall to 5-8 and continue their lackluster start in 2047.

It could have been a different outcome for Myrtle Beach, had it not been for Steve Covington, the 23-year old first baseman . Covington contributed a run-scoring walk in the top of the seventh inning to put Myrtle Beach up, 3-2.

"I'm just looking for a good pitch that I can hit well," said Covington. "And not try to do too much."
