Despite a fine performance by catcher Casey Vincent, the Laredo Hawks lost to the Yucca Valley Yellows, 9-8. Vincent went 2 for 4 with a home run, a double, and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Yucca Valley reliever Guo-ning Wang was the winner. His record is now 2-0. The losing pitcher was Michael Donovan. Yucca Valley is now 35-25, Laredo 30-30.

Yucca Valley took a 9-8 lead on Félix Gonzáles's 3rd home run of the season. The 2-run home run came off Laredo pitcher Michael Donovan in the bottom of the seventh.

"We're just going to try to build off this win," said Gonzáles.
