Hobeaus Suffer 2-1 Home Loss
|
Washington starter Domingo Delgado had a strong outing against the Smoky Mountain Hobeaus at Smokies Stadium. The right-hander was a big part of his team's 2-1 win. The winning pitcher was Delgado, now 1-0. He tossed 6.1 innings of 4-hit ball, while walking 0 and fanning 6. The Hobeaus, now 23-33, have lost 4 straight.
Ron Pollard, the 22-year old center fielder , had a direct impact on the outcome. Pollard contributed a run-scoring ground out in the top of the first inning to put Washington up, 2-0.
"I just tried to see the ball and put a good swing on it," said Pollard.
