The Monroeville Yinzers did just enough to secure a victory over the Put-In-Bay Commodores, 2-1, at Put-In-Bay Ballpark. Nobody did more than pitcher Natalino Gasco. Gasco, now 3-1, was the winner. In 6.2 innings, he gave up 6 hits, while striking out 6, walking 0, and allowing 1 run. The win has Monroeville at 19-36.

It could have been a different outcome for Monroeville, had it not been for Dave Blankenship, the 22-year old right fielder . Blankenship contributed a 2-run single in the top of the sixth inning to put Monroeville up, 2-1.

"It was our day today," Blankenship told the Monroeville Citizen. "But we've got to keep our nose to the grindstone."
