The Laredo Hawks had no problem beating the Pontiac Godfathers, 12-2, at Hawks Field. Terry Valdéz led the way. He was 3-5 with a home run and a double. He scored 2 times and drove in 3 for Laredo. Richard Wood earned the win after being called from the bullpen. The right-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit in 3.2 innings. He upped his record to 6-0. The 5th-place Hawks sport a record of 28-27.

Matsusuke Saikawa hit a 2-run double off Ismael Nicacio in the bottom of the first, which put the Hawks in front, 2-1. In addition to the double, Saikawa had 1 single and 1 walk, while going 2 for 4.
