The Put-In-Bay Commodores took Laredo pitcher Jeff Vázquez's best shot and still were able to claim a win at Put-In-Bay Ballpark. The final score had Put-In-Bay getting past the Hawks, 3-2. Vázquez went 7 innings and allowed 3 runs, striking out 3. Nelson Carrasco recorded the save for Put-In-Bay, his 11th of the season. The 'W' lifts Put-In-Bay's record to 20-27.
Max King had a clutch at-bat with one out in the bottom of the sixth for the Commodores. Coming up with runners on 2nd and 3rd and Put-In-Bay trailing 2-1, he hit a 2-run single.
"We had the game right there for the taking," said Laredo manager Leonardo Sánchez. "But we decided not to take it."
