The Monroeville Yinzers beat the Yucca Valley Yellows, 7-0. Monroeville pitcher and Cumana, Venezuela, native Natalino Gasco led the way. Richard McCord collected save number 2. The win has Monroeville at 13-23.
The Yinzers got a gift in the bottom of the first inning, when they were leading 1-0. With two out and the bases loaded, Jeremy Payne reached on an error by the 1B, driving in 1 run. It made the score 2-0, Monroeville.
"Win or lose, we always try to grind it out and stay even-keeled," Payne said in reaction to the win.
