The Huntington Hermit Crabs defeated the Washington Generals, 4-3, at The Shell. Huntington catcher George Mayes had a superb performance. He was 2 for 3 with a home run and a walk. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. Jeff Morehead picked up the win with 6.1 innings of work. He allowed 3 runs on 5 hits, while walking 4 and striking out 4. On the season, he is now 6-1. The Hermit Crabs improved to a lofty 28-7.

The Hermit Crabs got a big at-bat from shortstop Bob Hargrove. For the game, Hargrove went 1-4 with a double. In the bottom of the fifth, with runners on 1st and 3rd, he stroked a run-scoring double. His 2nd double of the season gave Huntington a 4-3 lead.

Hargrove attributed the win to "energy and focus on the part of everyone."
