|
Laredo first baseman Matsusuke Saikawa was a significant contributor in his team's 5-3 triumph over the Washington Generals. He was 2-4 with a home run, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once for Laredo. Laredo reliever Richard Wood picked up the win to move to 3-0. Marcos Toro suffered the loss. Bastien Martinez was credited with the save for Laredo, his 5th of the season.
Laredo grabbed the momentum in the bottom of the fifth, when Saikawa, who is tied for 8th in the SA in extra base hits with 9, hit a 3-run home run. His 5th home run of the season put the Hawks out in front, 4-3.
"It feels good to get this one," Saikawa told the Laredo Daily.
The Hawks now have a record of 11-10.
