The Laredo Hawks topped the Washington Generals, 5-3, with youngster Casey Vincent playing a key role. Vincent hit 2 home runs. He drove in 3 runs and scored twice for the Hawks in the win. Laredo reliever Dan Watson was the winner. His record is now 3-0. The losing pitcher was Carl Anning. Bastien Martinez closed the game out for Laredo, earning his 4th save.

Laredo took a 5-3 lead on Calvin Chappell's 7th home run of the season. The 2-run home run came off Washington pitcher Carl Anning in the bottom of the eighth.

"It was our day today," Chappell told the Laredo Daily. "But we've got to keep our nose to the grindstone."

Laredo raised its record to 10-10 with the win.
