The Yucca Valley Yellows defeated the Smoky Mountain Hobeaus, 8-5, at Smokies Stadium. Yucca Valley right fielder Raymond Parsons had a superb performance. He went 2-4 with 2 singles and a walk. He scored 2 times. Early on, the Yellows, at 10-4, have played an impressive brand of baseball.

Yucca Valley got the win thanks to a clutch hit from Leonardo Valdéz. The pinch hitter stroked a run-scoring double in the top of the eighth inning to put the Yellows ahead, 6-5. Though it was his only hit in 1 at-bat, it had a major impact on the outcome.

"Getting a lot of baserunners and getting some timely hits, it's a good combination," said Parsons.
