The performance of Tony Fulton proved critical in helping Mancelona beat Belleville, 8-5. The Torch right fielder went 1-3 with a home run, while adding 5 RBI and scoring once. Dennis Heath was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 18 of 21 save opportunities. Mancelona now has a record of 51-36 with the win.
Fulton contributed a big hit, a grand slam home run, for Mancelona in the bottom of the second. With his team trailing 4-2, Fulton took a changeup from Nick Long and stroked the home run to right-center. His 12th home run of the season allowed the Torch to leap in front, 6-4.
"The boys were really swinging the bats today," winning manager António Lucero said.
