The Pontiac Godfathers got a stellar performance from pitcher José Martínez, who handcuffed the Laredo offense en route to a win, 3-0, at Pontiac Copperdome. Juan Ochoa recorded his 1st save for Pontiac. The loss has the Hawks at 2-7.

Zachary Spilsbury had a big hit for Pontiac in the bottom of the second inning. With Pontiac leading 1-0, Spilsbury hit a run-scoring double. It was his 1st double of the season and put the Godfathers up, 2-0.

"We'll enjoy this win," said Martínez. "But there's more we hope to accomplish."
