Generals Stick Yinzers with 7-5 Loss
|
The Washington Generals beat the Monroeville Yinzers, 7-5, at Washington Park. Washington left fielder Mo Baring had an outstanding performance. He went 3 for 4 with a home run and 2 singles. He scored 2 runs. Washington pitcher Luis Castillo got the win. He's now 1-0. Jack Herer was tagged with the loss. The save was credited to Juan Gutiérrez, his 2nd.
With one out in the bottom of the second, Jim Kelley barreled up a cutter from Jack Herer. The result was a grand slam home run, putting the Generals in front, 6-1.
"You can't get too high when things go well, or too low when things go bad. Right now, I'm just happy we got the win," Baring told the Washington Gazette.
Monroeville drops to 0-3.
