The Ft. Polk South Thunder Hawks defeated the Nuevo Mexico Mariachis, 6-3, in USPL Double A action at Thunder Hawks Ballpark. Ft. Polk South pitcher Basem Al-Saodi had a standout performance. Al-Saodi went 6 innings to notch the win. He scattered 4 hits, walked 2, and struck out 4. His record improves to 7-1. Bartolo Márquez notched his 4th save in 6 chances.

In the bottom of the sixth, Ft. Polk South shortstop Wallace Sanders hit a two-strike cutter to right field for a run-scoring single. It put the Thunder Hawks up, 4-3.

Al-Saodi told a Ft. Polk South Daily News reporter that he was "satisfied" with the win.
