The Grim Reapers had to overcome a fine effort from Kingston pitcher Boyd Vélez to grab a narrow 3-2 win at Mango Yard. Vélez went 7 innings and allowed 3 runs. Khoury Abdul-Rahim, the winning pitcher, is now 3-3. He went 5.1 innings, allowing 2 runs on 7 hits, while fanning 5 and walking 1. The save went to Roy Harris, number 4 for him.
Scott Thomas, the 23-year old center fielder , had a direct impact on the outcome. Thomas contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the fifth inning to put Grim up, 2-1.
"You can't get too high when things go well, or too low when things go bad. Right now, I'm just happy we got the win," Thomas told the Grim Herald.
