Screaming Eagles Win at Northville, 4-3
|
Bill Zimmerman made an impact in the 4-3 Mercer Island win over Northville. Zimmerman, who is tied for 10th in the PAA in hits with 82, went 2 for 3 with a home run, a double, and a walk. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. The winning pitcher was Luis Gutiérrez. His record is now 6-5. The right-hander went 7 innings, allowing 3 runs on 4 hits for the Screaming Eagles. The win puts Mercer Island at 54-33 this season.
With Mercer Island leading 1-0 in the top of the third, Zimmerman hit a 3-run home run off Northville hurler Wilton Rich. It was the 13th home run of the season for Zimmerman and put his team ahead, 4-0.
