Clutch Hitting Delivers Win for Eclipse
|
The Northville Eclipse picked up a win at Old-Timers Park, knocking off the Ft. Polk South Thunder Hawks, 6-1. Starting pitcher Gudrat Tumanov played a key role in the triumph. Northville reliever Ramón Echevarría got the win, raising his record to 2-4. Bartolo Márquez was tagged with the loss. At 42-28, the Eclipse find themselves in third place in the Premier AA.
Northville took a 3-1 lead on António Marquis's 17th double of the season. The 2-run double, which Marquis hit in the bottom of the eighth, left Ft. Polk South pitcher Bartolo Márquez shaking his head.
"Good baseball players make you a smarter manager," said Northville manager Harris Harden.
