Rails Deal Pilgrims 4-3 Loss
|
The Richland Rails wiggled past the Providence Pilgrims, 4-3, at Field of Plenty. The win was highlighted by the performance of Richland pitcher Todd Wilcox. Mark Kiner picked up the save, his 2nd. Richland raised its record to 29-18 with the win.
The result might have been different for Richland, had it not been for Taroemon Nishii, the 25-year old right fielder . Nishii stroked a run-scoring double in the top of the 21st inning to put Richland up, 4-3. For the game, he had 1 double and 2 singles in 8 at-bats.
"Both teams played hard," said Richland manager Dave Orchard.
