Leviathan Use Late-Game Magic to Beat 84s, 3-2
|
The Nova Scotia Leviathan sent the home crowd home ecstatic.
The Nova Scotia Leviathan faced a tough opponent in Greenville pitcher Ratko Peric, but did just enough to pull out the victory at The Dungeon in Halifax by a final score of 3-2. Peric went 6.1 innings and allowed no runs. The winner was Isaac Gunner in relief. His record improves to 1-0. Sixto Bustamante took the loss.
Tony Moore was the walk-off hero for Nova Scotia. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Leviathan first baseman hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.
"This place sure got loud," said Andrew Powell, the Nova Scotia manager.
At 43-54, the Leviathan are currently 8th in the Premier League.
