Mariachis Walk It Off for 10th Win of Season
The Nuevo Mexico Mariachis stopped the Ft. Polk South Thunder Hawks, 3-2, at Mariachi Band Shell. The Mariachis got a big game from Kichibei Kawaguchi, who went 4-4 with a home run, a double, 2 singles, and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. The win belongs to Rusty Williams in relief. His record improves to 1-3. Bartolo Márquez took the loss for Ft. Polk South. At 10-17, the Mariachis claim 9th place in the Premier AA.

The game was still up for grabs in the bottom of the tenth. With no one out, Kawaguchi hit a fastball from Bartolo Márquez for a solo home run. The Mariachis, in dramatic fashion, had a walk-off win.

"Winning is hard sometimes," said Mariachis manager Gus Gibbs. "This one was nice to get."
