Rails Deal Atoms 5-2 Setback
|
Richland picked up a win at Rails Ballpark, toppling the Bethesda Atoms, 5-2. Pitcher Al Waddle was one of the reasons the Rails triumphed. Waddle, the winner, moves to 3-1. He threw 6.1 innings of 4-hit ball, while fanning 6 and giving up 1 walk. Jason Walker was credited with the save for Richland, his 5th of the season.
Colton Thomas had a key at-bat with one out in the bottom of the sixth for Richland. With the bases loaded and the Rails leading 3-2, he hit a sacrifice fly.
"We'll relax tonight and enjoy this win," said Thomas.
With the win, Richland pushed its record to 13-10.
