Day Lifts Loons to 9-6 Triumph
Sonny Day was a major factor in the 9-6 Minnesota win over Ft. Polk South. The Loons center fielder was 4 for 5 with a home run, a double, and 2 singles, while scoring 2 times and driving in 3. Minnesota reliever Martin van der Kuijl picked up the win, upping his record to 1-0. Wynn Kelley shouldered the loss. George Murray was called on to finish, recording his 2nd save.

Seth Porter, the 24-year old center fielder , had a direct impact on the outcome. Porter contributed a run-scoring walk in the top of the fourth inning to put Minnesota up, 5-4.

"We were able to get some things going offensively," said Porter.
