Thunder Hawks Deal Eclipse 2-0 Loss
|
Danny McElroy was a vital contributor to the 2-0 Ft. Polk South victory over Northville. The Thunder Hawks third baseman went 3-4 with a home run and 2 singles. Roberto Córdova, now 1-1, was credited with the win. He allowed no runs on 2 hits, while striking out 2 and walking 1. Picking up the save was Ken Travis, his 3rd.
McElroy had a game-changing home run in the top of the sixth. On a 0-1 changeup from Bayani Samelo, he banged a solo home run to left, giving the Thunder Hawks a 1-0 lead. It was the 4th home run of the year for McElroy.
McElroy told a Ft. Polk South Daily News reporter that he was "more than satisfied" with the win.
The loss drops the Eclipse to 8-7.
