Saboteurs Go Down to Defeat, 7-2
|
Barton Springs Blues starter Steve Kittrell hurled his team past the Toledo Saboteurs, 7-2. In 7 innings, Kittrell surrendered 1 hit, while striking out 6 and walking 1. He allowed 2 runs. The save went to Eric Ramírez, number 2 for him.
Had Eric Compton not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 1st and 3rd, Compton hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 3-2, in favor of the Blues.
"I felt we were ready to go," said Barton Springs manager Joe Kehoe. "Our pregame was pretty good."
At 40-47, the Blues find themselves in 7th place in the Silver AA.
