Riding the 2-hit performance of the 22-year old first baseman Alanzo Gaufi, the Gwinnett Guinea Pigs stopped the Tacoma Fur Traders, 11-1. Gwinnett starter Jeff Morehead was credited with the win after throwing 113 pitches over 6.2 innings. His record now stands at 6-1. The first-place Guinea Pigs have their sights set on making a deep playoff run.

With Gwinnett leading 4-1 in the top of the seventh, Gaufi hit a curveball from Joe Kelly for a grand slam home run. It was his 9th home run of the season and put the Guinea Pigs ahead, 8-1.

"The Guinea Pigs definitely had our number," said Tacoma manager Ángel Rosa.
