Polar Bears Prevail, 6-4, Over Gwinnett
|
Billings and Gwinnett duked it out and the Polar Bears came out victorious.
Billings Polar Bears starter Hidehira Shibutani was in a groove as he led his team to a win over the Gwinnett Guinea Pigs, 6-4. George King came out of the bullpen to earn the win. The right-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit in 2.2 innings. His record now stands at 2-1.
Billings used a timely hit from Roberto Flores to get the win. The shortstop stroked a 2-run double in the top of the seventh inning to put the Polar Bears ahead, 4-2. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it made an impact.
"We cashed in when we had the chance," said Billings manager Marvin Nelson.
The Polar Bears saw their win-loss record go to 36-38. At the same time, the Guinea Pigs fell to 54-20.
