Turbeaus Suffer 8-6 Home Loss
Gwinnett picked up a win at Mobile Home Park, toppling the Gulf Coast Turbeaus, 8-6. Pitcher Homer Sanders was one of the reasons the Guinea Pigs triumphed. In 8.1 innings, Sanders surrendered 8 hits, while striking out 7 and walking 1. He allowed 4 runs. Gwinnett improves to 53-19 with the win. They lead their division by 11½ games.

Gwinnett used the timely hitting of Will Blalock to capture the win. The right fielder socked a grand slam home run in the top of the sixth inning to put the Guinea Pigs ahead, 8-2. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a big one.
