Saboteurs Come Back Late to Top Whales, 3-1
Toledo picked up a win at Toledo Backyard Park, bumping off the Virginia Beach Whales, 3-1. Pitcher Steve Sanford was a major reason the Saboteurs emerged victorious. Joe Allen, now 3-1, was credited with the win. He allowed no runs on 1 hit, while striking out 1 and walking 0. Toledo now has a record of 38-33 with the win.

Toledo won the game in the bottom of the ninth inning. With one out and Bill Gould on the mound for Virginia Beach, designated hitter Mike Sherman hit a dramatic 2-run home run, bringing Saboteurs fans to their feet.

"I'm glad I could get it done when the game was in the balance," Sherman said in his postgame press conference.
