The Toledo Saboteurs got a strong performance from pitcher Steve Sanford, who stymied the Squirrel Hill offense en route to a win, 5-2, at Toledo Backyard Park. Joe Allen was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 5 of 5 save opportunities. The win elevated the Saboteurs to 31-30.

Toledo took a 4-2 lead on Ron Buchanan's 14th double of the season. The 2-run double, which Buchanan hit in the bottom of the seventh, left Squirrel Hill pitcher Mané Garrincha shaking his head.

"One win at a time, one game at a time. We try not to get too far ahead of ourselves," Buchanan told the Toledo Herald.
