Streaking Guinea Pigs Win Another One, 4-2
|
The Gwinnett Guinea Pigs bested the Billings Polar Bears, 4-2, at The Igloo. Stone Wright was one of the standouts. He was 2 for 3 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 2 times and driving in 2. Picking up the win was Homer Sanders. He went 7 innings, allowing 2 runs on 7 hits. The right--hander struck out 6 and walked 3. Gwinnett has now won 11 straight, while the Polar Bears have lost 3 in a row.
Wright had a big at-bat with a runner on 1st in the top of the fourth inning, when he hit a 2-run home run. The Guinea Pigs went on to win.
"As well as we've been playing, I think we can play even better," said Gwinnett manager Tabor de Maria.
