The Squirrel Hill Pierogis got a superb performance from pitcher Bhunandana Lecamwasam, but the Virginia Beach Whales still won the game, 4-3. Lecamwasam threw 6.1 innings of 5-hit ball. The win gives Virginia Beach a season record of 25-18.

Virginia Beach used the clutch hitting of Lee Montgomery to capture the win. The shortstop drilled a 2-run double in the top of the seventh inning to give the Whales the lead, 4-2. For the game, Montgomery had 1 single and 1 double in 4 at-bats.

"I'm just looking for a good pitch that I can hit well," said Montgomery. "And not try to do too much."
