Virginia Beach Gets 6-5 Win
Tom Scroby had a good game, but he could not keep the Toledo Saboteurs from falling, 6-5, to the Virginia Beach Whales at Toledo Backyard Park. The Toledo second baseman was 2-2 with 2 singles and 2 walks, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once in the loss. Ricardo Corona sewed up the save, his 1st. The Whales, at 21-17, sit in third place in the Silver AA.

Virginia Beach relied on the hitting of Rick McCarthy to pick up the win. The second baseman clubbed a 2-run home run in the top of the sixth inning to put the Whales on top, 5-4. For the game, McCarthy had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.

"It was a solid team effort," said McCarthy after the game.
