Toledo pitcher Yuan Thian did his part in helping his team beat the Billings Polar Bears, 5-3. The left-hander kept opposing batters in check throughout the game. In 7 innings, Thian surrendered 6 hits, while striking out 7 and walking 1. He allowed 3 runs. Earning his 7th save of the year was Jim Hicks.
Mike Sherman had an important at-bat with two out in the bottom of the third, when he hit a 2-run triple. His 1st triple of the season put Toledo on top, 3-1.
