Whales Deal Guinea Pigs 6-1 Setback
|
The Virginia Beach Whales defeated the Gwinnett Guinea Pigs, 6-1, in USSL Double A action at Virginia Beach Grounds. Virginia Beach pitcher Daryl Benstead had a standout performance. The Whales have an impressive 19-12 record.
In the bottom of the first, Neung-uk Yi hit a 2-run home run. The 4th home run of the season for the Virginia Beach center fielder put the Whales on top, 2-0.
Benstead expressed little emotion after the game. "Every game we win now," he said, "is one less win we'll need to get in the end."
