The Virginia Beach Whales topped the Billings Polar Bears, 6-0, in USSL Double A action at The Igloo. The standout performance belonged to Virginia Beach pitcher and Houston, Texas, native William Gordon. In 7 innings, Gordon surrendered 5 hits, while striking out 4 and walking 1. He allowed no runs. The winning streak has now reached 4 games for the Whales.
Who knows how it might've ended, had it not been for Emílio Soto? The Virginia Beach third baseman had a run-scoring double in the top of the first inning to put the Whales on top, 1-0. For the game, Soto had 1 double and 1 single in 5 at-bats.
