Pierogis Deal Polar Bears 4-3 Loss
|
The Squirrel Hill Pierogis took Billings pitcher Michael MacGregor's best shot and still were able to claim a win at Field of the Rawhides. The final score had Squirrel Hill getting past the Polar Bears, 4-3. MacGregor went 5.2 innings and allowed no runs, striking out 5. Squirrel Hill has a mark of 6-11 after the win.
The clutch hit was provided by Dave Montés. He delivered a walk-off run-scoring single off Stewart Clapp in the bottom of the 14th.
Montés called the win "a lesson in teamwork."
