Saboteurs Tag Fur Traders with 5-3 Loss
The Toledo Saboteurs defeated the Tacoma Fur Traders, 5-3, in USSL Double A action at Ballpark of Tacoma. Toledo pitcher Mike Thornton had a standout performance. Thornton got the win, improving to 2-0. He allowed 5 hits and walked 2 over 7.1 innings. Thornton allowed 2 runs. Jim Hicks earned the save, his 4th.

Toledo used a well-timed hit by Ron Buchanan to capture the win. The center fielder socked a 2-run double in the top of the second inning to put the Saboteurs ahead, 4-0. Though it was his only hit in 4 at-bats, it was important.

Buchanan attributed the win to "a well-rounded effort by the whole team."

Toledo goes to 10-6 with the win.
