Fans at Field of the Rawhides witnessed the Squirrel Hill Pierogis blank the Billings Polar Bears, 11-0 behind a superb effort by starter Chris McGee. The Squirrel Hill left-hander allowed 3 hits in recording the shutout.

"Chris was good today but I don't want to focus too much on a single game," Squirrel Hill manager Roy Clay said later. "If you're capable of playing at this level, you're capable of having a good game. The real question is if you can learn from that game and repeat it."
