Fur Traders Come Up Short at Virginia Beach, 7-6
The Virginia Beach Whales bested the Tacoma Fur Traders, 7-6, at Virginia Beach Grounds. Walt Reed was one of the standouts. He went 2 for 4 with a home run, while scoring 2 runs. Bill Gould, summoned from the bullpen, notched his 2nd save. The defeat makes Tacoma 8-7.

The Whales got a big at-bat from center fielder Neung-uk Yi. For the game, Yi was 1-3 with a home run and was hit by a pitch. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. In the bottom of the fifth, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a 3-run home run. His 1st home run of the season gave Virginia Beach a 6-3 lead.
