Experimental Stadium was the site of a competitive game between the Virginia Beach Whales and Gwinnett Guinea Pigs.

Gwinnett got a strong outing from Randy Woodruff as the Guinea Pigs defeated the Virginia Beach Whales, 4-2, at Experimental Stadium. The winning pitcher was Woodruff, now 1-0. He tossed 8 innings of 3-hit ball, while walking 0 and fanning 4.

Gwinnett took a 4-2 lead on Jay Harris's 4th home run of the season. The 3-run home run came off Virginia Beach pitcher Bill Gould in the bottom of the eighth.

"I still think this team can play even better," Harris told the Gwinnett Chronicle.

The Guinea Pigs, now 9-2, have had a terrific start to the season.
