Fighting Imps Take Down Highlanders, 5-4
|
Behind a fine performance from Liam Greer, the Ithaca Fighting Imps knocked off the Asheville Highlanders, 5-4. Greer went 3-6 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk. He scored 2 runs for the Fighting Imps. Ithaca reliever Damarco Lyons got the win, raising his record to 6-2. Tom Young was tagged with the loss. Ithaca currently is in third place in the Menard's AA at 58-43.
The game was still up for grabs in the bottom of the 14th. With no one out, Greer hit a sinker from Tom Young for a solo home run. The Fighting Imps, in dramatic fashion, had a walk-off win.
"We played hard and won," said Greer. "Sometimes, baseball really is that easy.'
