Rocketeers Deal Leviathan 6-4 Loss
|
Seattle Rocketeers starter Virgil Dickerson pitched a strong game against the Nova Scotia Leviathan at The Dungeon in Halifax, leading the Rocketeers to victory, 6-4. Dickerson, the winner, moves to 3-9. He threw 5.1 innings of 2-hit ball, while fanning 5 and giving up 1 walk. Seattle has now won 3 straight, while the Leviathan have lost 3 in a row.
Seattle used the bat of Bras Castanheta to get the win. The third baseman hammered a grand slam home run in the top of the second inning to put the Rocketeers ahead, 5-0. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it did its damage.
"In baseball, you have your ups and downs," said Nova Scotia manager Andrew Powell. "You just try to stay level-headed the whole time."
