Ottawa pitcher Benoît Lambert did his part in helping his team beat the Akron Blimps, 3-2. The right-hander kept opposing batters in check throughout the game. In 5 innings, Lambert surrendered 4 hits, while striking out 5 and walking 4. He allowed 1 run. The save went to Jurgen Helmer, his 4th this season.

Ottawa used the bat of John Putman to get the win. The designated hitter hammered a 3-run home run in the top of the fourth inning to put the Nationals ahead, 3-0. It was his lone hit in 3 at-bats, but it did its damage.

"Win or lose, we pick each other up in this clubhouse," Putman told the Ottawa Today.
