Love Boats Deal Highlanders 5-1 Setback
The Lake Minnetonka Love Boats got a stellar performance from pitcher Rick Scott, who handcuffed the Asheville offense en route to a win, 5-1, at Heron Field. In 7 innings, Scott surrendered 3 hits, while striking out 2 and walking 2. He allowed no runs. The 6th-place Love Boats go to 39-38.

The Love Boats got an important contribution from left fielder Roger Smith, who in the bottom of the fourth punched a 1-1 fastball into left-center for a 2-run home run. It was his 5th home run of the season and put the Love Boats ahead, 4-0.

"Rick did a tremendous job," said Lake Minnetonka manager Javier Martínez.
