The Lancaster Farmers knocked off the Ottawa Nationals, 5-3, at Nationals Park. Ben Smith hit 2 singles and 2 doubles, while driving in 2 runs. Kamaliela Kaulo, credited with the save, is now 5 for 6 in save opportunities. With this game in the books, Lancaster is 32-37, Ottawa 34-35.
Lancaster used a timely hit from Duncan Hutchinson to get the win. The right fielder stroked a 2-run double in the top of the eighth inning to put the Farmers ahead, 3-2. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it made an impact.
"We'll put this win in our pocket and go after the next one," said Hutchinson.
