The Asheville Highlanders defeated the Ithaca Fighting Imps, 5-4, at Imps Park. Asheville second baseman Joe Fuller had a superb performance. He went 3-4 with 2 doubles, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Rob Green recorded the save for Asheville, his 11th of the season. Asheville now owns a record of 23-41.
Asheville used the timely hitting of Yong-oon P'i to seize the win. The designated hitter stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the eighth inning to put the Highlanders on top, 4-3. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"We put it together today and came out with the win," P'i said in postgame remarks. "That's the main thing."
